Fortify Rights hosted a reception celebrating Angkhana Neelapaijit on receiving the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award 2019. Angkhana Neelapaijit is a Thai human rights defender. She has long worked to end enforced disappearance, impunity, and human rights violations in Thailand.
Former UN Independent Expert on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Prof. Vitit Muntarbhorn, Canadian Ambassador to Thailand Donica Pottie, Executive Director of Fortify Rights Amy Smith, and Wanrueng Sankaew from the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand delivered heartwarming speeches reflecting on Angkhana Neelapaijit’s tenacious efforts to promote human rights in Thailand and beyond.
