(BANGKOK, October 2024)—On October 22, 2024, Thailand’s Senate subcommittee on human rights invited Fortify Rights Director of The Fort Puttanee Kangkun to join the committee as a member. As a member, Fortify Rights will be in a position to contribute to legislation, provide insights to Thailand’s Senate on human rights issues in Thailand, and provide recommendations to improve human rights in Thailand. The committee is comprised of parliamentary senators and individuals with human rights expertise.
Puttanee Kangkun has been a member of the Fortify Rights team since 2015 and has more than 20 years of experience working for the rights of refugees, human rights defenders, and survivors of human rights abuses. She is currently serving as the Chair of Amnesty International-Thailand. Her appointment to the committee recognizes her knowledge on human rights issues in Thailand and her commitment to human rights.
