Today, August 25, marks nine years since the Myanmar military launched a genocidal attack against the Rohingya population in Rakhine State.

“We want to go back to our home, to our country. We want justice, and we want our rights to be restored,” says Hazera Khatu, a Rohingya genocide survivor and refugee in Bangladesh.

Nine years on, justice and accountability remain out of reach. The U.N. member states should take action to end impunity and ensure lifesaving support for Rohingya refugees.
