(BANGKOK, February 23, 2026)—Around the world, authoritarianism is rising, repression is deepening, and human rights are under attack. In moments like this, the power of the human voice—unfiltered, grounded in lived experience, and committed to the truth—matters more than ever.

At Fortify Rights, we have always believed in the power of the written word. Words can expose violations, challenge injustice, and instigate and inspire accountability and change. They can awaken the conscience and inspire action.

That’s why I’m proud to announce the launch of The Foreword—a new publication series by Fortify Rights featuring original commentary and analysis from our team of human rights defenders in Myanmar, Thailand, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Ukraine, the United States, and the U.K.. Many of our contributors are working on the front lines of some of the world’s most dangerous and complex crises. Their voices—informed, courageous, and grounded in moral clarity—will shape this series.

These are not detached essays. They are firsthand perspectives rooted in deep research and lived experience. Each piece will reflect the same rigor and care that define Fortify Rights’s frontline investigations—paired with the immediacy, reflection, and solutions from those who refuse to look away.

Why now?

Because the world needs more truth-tellers. The Foreword will be a space for timely analysis, sharp insight, and bold ideas—a forum from the front lines to promote realistic solutions to complex problems.

We invite you to read, share, and engage with what is to come.
