(COX’S BAZAR, December 8, 2024)—Fortify Rights and Bangladesh humanitarian group PULSE Bangladesh jointly conducted a daylong knowledge- and skills-development workshop on human rights and strategic advocacy with Cox’s Bazar-based Bangladeshi student human rights defenders. The participants included members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, a network of young activists widely credited with leading the protest movement that ended the authoritarian rule of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in August 2024.

The workshop included sessions on mapping pertinent human rights issues in Cox’s Bazar District, identifying solutions and advocacy targets, and developing impactful advocacy strategies.

The response to the workshop was positive. Participants said they improved their knowledge of the topics covered, and they requested more human rights workshops like this in the future.
