(COX’S BAZAR, December 5, 2024)— Fortify Rights organized a participatory two-day training titled Surveying for Impact in Cox’s Bazar District, Bangladesh, to equip refugee leaders with essential skills to design, conduct, and analyze surveys for impactful human rights advocacy.

The training brought together 15 participants, including refugee youth leaders, human rights defenders, and representatives from refugee-led organizations, to enhance their capacity to collect and use data effectively in addressing key issues affecting their communities. Participants were introduced to survey design principles, including question formulation, sampling techniques, and ethical considerations in data collection.

The workshop received positive feedback from attendees, who reported that it helped them gain new knowledge on surveying methodologies and tools that will be beneficial for conducting surveys. “My approach will be better with our community when I [collect data] for a survey, said one attendee, a representative of Rohingya youth.

This workshop is part of Fortify Rights’s ongoing efforts to serve communities advocating for their rights through evidence-based approaches.
