(COX’S BAZAR, March 2023)—Between March 16 and 18, 2023, Fortify Rights facilitated a three-day participatory training on human rights, documentation, and advocacy for more than 20 Rohingya refugees working with Rohingya-led organizations in Cox’s Bazar refugee camps in Bangladesh. The training included an introduction to human rights, the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and other international treaties, mapping strategic advocacy targets, writing for advocacy and protection, interviewing for human rights documentation, and collecting testimony.

The training received positive feedback. Ninety percent of participants found the sessions to be responsive to their needs, strategic, and clearly delivered. Most participants indicated that they gained new skills, positive connections, and new ideas. In an interview to solicit feedback from participants, one participant said, “This was the best training for me as it’ll be useful [for] our work [in] doing interviews and documentation…”
