(BANGLADESH, November 2022)—On November 3, 2022, Rohingya refugee-led civil society organizations in Cox’s Bazar District, Bangladesh published a joint statement advocating for the Myanmar military and Arakan Army to cease attacks on Rohingya civilians. Twelve groups based in refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar District signed the statement.

According to the statement: “[B]oth parties chose to take position in the Rohingya village during the fighting. They intentionally choose the villages of Rohingya people as their battlegrounds. Innocent Rohingya men, women and children are being killed in Arakan State.”

Fortify Rights was proud to provide technical assistance to the groups in their work on these critical issues.
