(COX’S BAZAR, November 7, 2020)—On November 7, Asia Times published a photo essay by Abdullah, a Rohingya refugee photographer and videographer. This was the first time Abdullah’s work had been published. The photo essay provides a snapshot of daily life in the Rohingya refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar District, Bangladesh and is accompanied by a short essay by Abdullah, telling his story.

Abdullah was among 15 Rohingya refugees who attended a basic photography training provided by Fortify Rights in the refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar District on November 28, 2018. All the participants expressed an interest in learning about photography. The workshop provided hands-on training to the refugees while also introducing best practices in terms of photography and social media management.

Check out more of Abdullah’s work on TwitterInstagram and with the Rollywood Rohingya Film Team.
